HONORS WORLD HISTORY PROJECT

GOAL: Research, write a script and produce a podcast about a famous person who lived between 1550 and 1880.  The podcast will take the form of an interview.  The student will take on the identity of the person that they researched.  The interviewer may be a classmate or relative.  (Classmates may earn 25 points of extra credit)

 

INDIVIDUALS SELECTED:  inventors, explorers, famous generals, kings, queens, artists, writers, composers.  The focus should be on Europeans.  Do not select someone connected with American colonies or colonization.

 

PODCAST: Your podcast must be at least 5 minutes in length. It must be format of a radio interview with your famous person. You are required to have at least one "commercial" during your radio interview.  Your interview must cover major events during your individual's life.  You may include info on their childhood and education.  The commercial must be for a product that was available during the individual's lifetime.

 

SCRIPT:  Your script must be typed in 12 point New Times Roman font.  The script must be annotated with where you got your information. You are expected to have a script at least four pages double spaced in length.  You must practice reading your script and timing it. When you read the script do not include the annotations.

 

SOURCES:  You are required to have at least four print sources and two internet sources.  Only one E-book can be substituted for one print source.  Internet sources must be scholarly sources.  All sources used must be documented on your separate bibliography.

BIBLIOGRAPHY:  Your bibliography must be written in correct MLA format.
